Conclusion of the Hunger Games

I just finished reading Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, there is one MAJOR! Flaw! When Katniss is isolated in the tree and the careers are trying to kill her, why don't the careers burn the tree down with the fire they use to make for warmth or chop down the tree, the only attempt to kill Katniss was by them shooting a couple of arrows and then Cato climbing the tree and falling down. Also, the Hunger Games is a concept that comprises of 24 teenagers enter an arena and seek our to kill the other 23 tributes, when they decide to wait Katniss out, all the careers waiting for Katniss in the tree decide to fall asleep AT THE SAME TIME! Taking that into account it was an alliance but surely atleast one of them should have woken up and killed every single one of then, seeing as in the end there can only be one winner. This particular section baffled me but overall it was a good book. If your a picky reader and you don't like flaws in books don't read it.
I'm on to Catching Fire, the next installment of the series, I will keep you posted on how I'm finding the book. There has been a lot of hype for Catching Fire, I just hope there isn't a repeat of last time!
Catching Fire here I come!
